First TRASH-a-thon Clean Up
Posted On October 15, 2016
We had our first clean up of this year’s “TRASH-a-thon”! With the help of my friends, family, and community, I am cleaning up a 10-mile stretch of road from my house to our county commissioners’ office. I want to clean up our county, so everyone can enjoy this beautiful community!
At our first clean up, we had seven people participating. We cleaned up a total 960 pounds of trash (YES, 960 pounds in ONE mile stretch of road! CRAZY!). That included a reclining chair, three mattresses, and eighteen tires. Our most common items found were cigarette butts, plastic beverage bottles, and Styrofoam cups and plates. Our most unusual item was a wallet.
Want to help me clean up our county? You can!
- Participate at our next clean up on Sunday, November 6th!
- Sponsor me for my TRASH-a-thon. $1, $2, or more…I will be so thankful for ANY amount!
- Sign my petition to clean up our county. It only takes a minute, I promise!
