Guest Speaker [Video]
Something really cool happened on February 25, 2017! I was a guest speaker at the Satilla Riverkeeper’s “Roastin’ on the River” event. The Satilla Riverkeeper is an organization that works to protect and teach others about the importance of the Satilla River. They have been a big supporter of my project this year, even coming to several of my cleanups! We share a common goal of cleaning up our county and keeping trash out of our rivers and oceans. We make a great team!
For my speech, I talked about my “Trash for Turtles” project. I was really nervous, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. One cool thing about my experience was that a teacher from my school was there! I also got 10 signatures on my petition, so I am now up to 85 signatures (just 15 more to reach my goal!). It was really cool to meet so many other people who cared about our environment.
In case you missed it, here is a clip of my speech:
I hope that we can work together to help our environment for the future of kids like me!
