2017 Shell-e-brate Festival

Doing “the dab” with Scute at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.

Hello, fellow “turtley” awesome kids! I just got back from the Shell-e-brate Festival at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. This year’s theme was “Tidal Connections,” which focused on ways we can protect our coastal environment. My family and I had a booth there, so we could sell my newest book Threatened Animals from A to Z and Save Our Oceans tee-shirts. More importantly, I was able to talk about all the ways kids, like you and me, can help our environment. Our Trash for Turtles project is finishing up its fifth year, and in that time, we have done so many things to help our environment, like participate in community cleanups, talk to others, raise money for sea turtles, and of course, make this website!

And guess what? We ARE making a difference! I made three goals for this year…and this past week, we reached two of them! The first goal was to get at least 100 signatures on my petition! We are over 100 now! The second goal was to reach at least $5,000 dollars in money raised for the sea turtles! You won’t believe this! Thanks to donations and people buying our items, we have made it to — drum roll please — $5,000! Yipeeeeeeeeeee! Now, all that is left is to complete the 10-mile cleanup to our county commissioners’ office. We have cleaned up 9 miles so far, so we only have 1 more to go!

Thank you so much for reading this and for supporting me on my mission to help our environment. Without all of you, none of these accomplishments would be possible! This year’s Trash for Turtles project ends April 30th, so make sure to donate or sign my petition soon!
