October Happenings
Hi, it’s Hannah again! This month we have been very busy, but we still had a chance to get out into our community and share our message. If you joined the Earth Inspired Kids squad last year, you probably remember our annual fall cleanup at Jamestown Landing along the Satilla River. This is part of a river-wide cleanup organized by the Satilla Riverkeeper. Along with the other site leaders and volunteers, we helped remove over 3,000 pounds of trash from the Satilla River watershed this year! I also sold some of my Threatened Animals from A to Z books at our local authors book fair. I enjoyed selling some books and reading others. Watch this video to see some cool pictures of all the fun we have had!
Oh, and I can’t forget it’s Halloween! Can you guess what my super cool costume is?
If you guessed a jellyfish, you’re right! Do you know what jellyfish are mistaken for by sea turtles? They mistake plastic bags for jellyfish. Since they can’t eat or breathe with a plastic bag in their throat, most die! So this Halloween, make sure that any plastic bags you use or see make it to a trash can and not on the ground. Even better, use a reusable bag instead! Well, I think I see a sea turtle, so I’ve got to go. I don’t want to be its lunch!
Great post Hannah I loved the video and your costume was amazing!! You have definitely inspired me to do better love you so Much
Way to go, Hannah! Awesome costume!
