50th Trash Clean Up

We hit our 50th trash clean up for Trash for Turtles this month! We cleaned up Mill Creek, the same place where I got my fish samples for my What’s for Breakfast mini-documentary. There is a pipe that can block trash from getting down river and cause a backup. Lots of trash can be stocked up here and can stop the flow of the river. Because of this, we decided it was the perfect place to go for our Mahi Sweep clean up this month.

It was only an hour long, but we got more trash than we could ever imagine! We found lots of balls, from soccer balls to bouncy balls. We also found a balloon, flip flop, and fog horn (I wanted to see if it worked but sadly, it didn’t). We even found a bottle or cup from many different companies. It is so sad to see all the plastic and styrofoam. Below are some pictures of what we found, and some before and after photos.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day (I really wanted to keep that foghorn, but I didn’t *frowny face).

There’s still time to take the Mahi Sweep Challenge, but hurry this ends May 1st. Clean up an area where you live, and we’ll add you to our Hall of Fame and even send you a sticker!
