NOAA Marine Debris Art Contest
This year’s contest focuses on how marine debris affects us and the ocean and Great Lakes and on what we are doing in our own lives to stop it. If your artwork is chosen, it will be in NOAA’s 2021 Marine Debris Calendar! So cool!
All kids in kindergarten through eighth grade can participate in this annual art contest involving marine debris. Marine debris is litter in the ocean that can affect many different animals. Even if you don’t live near the ocean, your trash can flow downstream right into it. The marine ecosystems get affected by making many plant and animal species sick or even die. Some of these species are threatened and in danger of going extinct, meaning they may be gone… FOREVER! So let’s tell others and help keep are marine ecosystems clean!
You have until November 30, 2019 to enter. So, grab your art supplies and join me! For more information and to get an entry form, go to the contest’s website here.
