2021 MLK Day Annual Clean-Up!

As tradition goes, Martin Luther King Jr. Day (National Day of Service) is a community clean up day for us. This year, I organized a clean up on a local dirt road known for people frequently illegally dumping. It was near one of the roads I cleaned up as a part of my 2017 Trash-a-thon to raise awareness about this issue in my county. Just like some of our community members stated, it was extremely trashy. On a top of the regular four or so tires, five bags of aluminum cans, and other trash, we found plenty of deer and other animal carcasses. So, it was very stinky! P-U! We had three groups join us in a clean up for the first time. It was great to meet new people who wanted to make a difference! Even better was seeing so many young kids come out and learn about this issue first hand. It shows no matter how old you are, it is never too early or late to go out and help!

Thank you to Mrs. Angela with the Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Jason with the County for advertising and helping us find a clean up location!
