Our Georgia Coast: Conservation Stories Through Film
A new project branching from One Hundred Miles, Our Georgia Coast, highlights different conservationists making a difference along Georgia’s coast. I am excited to share that I have had the opportunity to be featured in several short videos to bring awareness about protecting our coast. These videos are now live and can be viewed on the Our Georgia Coast website. I invite you to check them out, including these two where I share parts of my story:
- Meet Hannah Bonvechio, Student + Activist: My personal conservation story (running time: 3 min 21 sec)
- Promise Flows from Here: Inspiring community action (running time: 9 min 15 sec)
The making of these videos not only ignited my passion for conservation, but also my love of film. It was fascinating to see all the different aspects that go into the smallest detail. On set, there were multiple people ensuring the sound is clear through high-tech, expensive cameras. There was also light equipment to ensure that I was well lighted in the scene. An interviewer asked me questions about my conservation projects, and I answered with responses that were then incorporated into the film. I felt the whole production crew was super supportive and professional, which made my first film experience a rewarding one.
I am so honored to be included among other lead players in conservation in Georgia. I could not be more thankful for another way to share my story and make a difference!
