Made It Halfway!

I am HALFWAY to my 10-mile goal!!! Over 5 miles we have cleaned up so far! Now at the halfway point, we we are up to an estimated 3,362 pounds of trash. That is about 600 lbs of trash per mile…WOW! I couldn’t have done it without our volunteers – all 31 one of them – so big thanks to all of you!

Watch us jump over the halfway point!

On clean up #5 on February 12, 2017, we cleaned up 1 mile and another 709 pounds of trash with the help of 12 volunteers. A total of 6 kids from my school were there and 2 of them were part of the school’s recycling club. So cool! Since kids from my school were there, we took the 4 bags of aluminum cans we collected and donated them to the school so they could recycle them and get money for them.

We still have other cleanups this spring — at least four more — so we still need your help! Visit my TRASH-a-thon page for the latest updates and information.

Even though it’s hard work, you can be proud when you finish. So, come out and help the environment!
