YOCS Mini Grant Follow Up

I love to speak to groups about my Trash for Turtles project, but this spring, I had to cancel all but one event due to this global pandemic. In May, I was also awarded a YOCS mini grant that will allow me to give out some cool t-shirts at these events. Even in challenging times, I am determined to make this work and continue to spread my message of ocean conservation. This past summer, I sent out a request to local organizations, schools and groups for me to speak. So far, I have presented to two groups, but I would like to speak to a few more by the end of the year. If you are a part of a group and interested in me coming to speak to you this year, please contact me and we can set up a time!

Here are four awesome reasons to have me speak to your group!

  1. You will learn about the importance of marine ecosystems and ways we can work together to help protect the wildlife that live there.
  2. I will demonstrate the use of technology in solving some of our current problems.
  3. Attendees at each session will be given the chance to win a free “Love. Protect. Save.” t-shirt that I helped design!
  4. I can do either an in-person talk (with safety measures in place, of course), or even do one virtually.

For more details, read my YOCS mini grant announcement here.

The end of the year is coming up so fast! Even though this year has been different (to say the least), let’s make the best of it.

Hope to hear from you soon!

This project is funded through a mini-grant from the Youth Ocean Conservation Summit. The Youth Ocean Conservation Summit empowers young conservation leaders with the knowledge, tools, and funds to launch solutions-oriented ocean conservation projects around the world.
