Read-a-thon Book #6 Review: All the Way to the Ocean
All the Way to the Ocean by Joel Harper is an adorable picture book that answers the question, “Where does our trash go?” This short story follows two friends as they discover that not only rain goes down the storm drain. They learn about litter flowing directly to the ocean and harming innocent creatures. Much like myself, they did a clean up, to clean some of their storm drains. Though this is a story, its message is quite real. Everything that we do on land affects our oceans which is why we have to be so careful with our actions. This book displays this in an easy to understand and fun way. The art style is super neat, too! I’m so happy I got the opportunity to read this book. I recommend it to anyone younger that wants an introduction to pollution issues.
Everyone who sponsored this book was given the opportunity to enter a drawing for a free Trash for Turtles t-shirt or bracelet, and the opportunity to choose a local library where I will donate a copy of this book for others to read. And this month’s winner is…
This was the final book in this year’s Read-a-thon and my final fundraiser as a part of Trash for Turtles. I want to thank everyone who put forth their support through these donations. The Caretta Research Project is going to greatly benefit from all of our efforts.
That seems like a good book!
